Remote Backup

Initial data can be seeded and moved manually or is sent offsite via a VPN or dedicated communications link in a compressed and encrypted format. This is stored on a pool of highly available RAID protected storage housed within our secure data centre.

Subsequently only the changed blocks of files are sent offsite in the same manner, which provides both a secure and highly bandwidth-efficient backup solution.

The recovery of data can be effected back across the link to the client site as and when required and can be initiated by users or with assistance from the managed operations team.  

The central storage pool is itself SAN based and is backed up by tape additionally allowing clients’ data to be archived off and retained as required.
